Cellular

Peplink routers, MIMO antennas and multi-carrier SIMs — coastal companion WAN done properly.

Cellular

Cellular is still the most reliable near-shore path and the mandatory companion WAN for professional Starlink installs. GMTS specifies Peplink routers, external MIMO antennas and multi-carrier SIMs — not a consumer booster taped to a rail.

What we supply

  • Peplink MAX, BR and MBX families matched to modem count and vessel class
  • External MIMO antennas and mounts for flybridge, mast or cabin-top
  • NZ, Australian and Pacific roaming SIMs via GMTS Connect
  • Bonding or failover with Starlink for harbour, activation and obstruction
  • InControl2 visibility for fleet managers and dealers

Who it is for

  • Coastal and harbour operators who live inside cellular most of the week
  • Ocean-going vessels that need a tested companion when LEO is blocked
  • Fleets that want one SIM and firmware story across the waterline

How we deliver

  1. One WAN, not three internets. We look at coverage, mast real-estate and the routers already on board so Starlink and cellular share failover instead of competing SSIDs.
  2. Modem count, MIMO antennas and a SIM pack that match the coast you actually run — not a booster on a rail.
  3. SpeedFusion bonds the links when the extra path earns its place. Hot Failover is the tool when bonding is the wrong answer. InControl is how we see which WAN is healthy after we leave.
  4. Handover is VLAN notes and Connect airtime records.

Not the same as Mobile Cellular. This page is shipboard companion WAN — MIMO antennas, multi-carrier SIMs and Peplink bonding for vessels. Land vehicles and rural sites use Mobile Cellular.

Need indoor handset cover? When outdoor LTE/5G exists but steel decks and cabins kill phones, that is a Cel-Fi smart repeater job — not a Peplink WAN or an illegal booster on a rail.

How we specify cellular

Routers and antennas, not a booster on a rail.

Coastal companion WAN: modem count, MIMO real-estate and SIMs that match the coast you actually run.

Router class

Peplink MAX, BR or MBX matched to modem count and vessel class.

Antennas

External MIMO on flybridge, mast or cabin-top — surveyed, not guessed.

SIMs

NZ, Australian and Pacific roaming via GMTS Connect.

Handoff

Bond or fail over with Starlink; document which LED is healthy.

FAQ

Common questions

Boosters or routers?

GMTS leads with Peplink routers, external antennas and SIMs. Consumer boosters can help a phone; they do not give you a documented WAN, VLANs or fleet visibility.

How far offshore does cellular work?

It depends on mast height, antenna class and which carrier you can see. We treat cellular as coastal and harbour companion WAN, not a mid-Pacific primary.

Can you retrofit a Starlink-only install?

Yes — many jobs add Peplink and MIMO without replacing a working dish.

Do you provision SIMs for kit we already own?

Yes via the Data SIM application or GMTS Connect for approved dealers.
