This page covers returns, dead-on-arrival (DOA), and warranty RMA for hardware purchased from Global Marine Technology Services Limited. Software licences, airtime, and special-order items often cannot be returned once activated — we will say so on the quote or invoice.

1. Before you ship anything back

  • Email info@gmts.io or use Contact with your order / invoice number, SKU, serial number, and a short fault description (photos help).
  • Wait for an RMA / returns authorisation and shipping instructions. Unauthorised returns may be refused or delayed.
  • Book a meeting if you need a short call to triage before shipping.

2. Change of mind (trade / B2B)

  • Unused, unopened stock in original packaging may be accepted for return within 14 days of delivery at GMTS’s discretion, subject to a restocking fee (typically up to 15%) and freight at your cost unless we agree otherwise in writing.
  • Opened, installed, or custom-configured items (kits, cut cable, programmed radios, activated licences) are generally non-returnable except under warranty / DOA.

3. Dead on arrival (DOA)

  • Report DOA within 7 days of delivery where packaging or transit damage is obvious, or as soon as practical after first power-on for sealed electronics.
  • We will arrange repair, replacement, or credit per manufacturer rules and stock availability.

4. Warranty RMA

  • Default cover is the manufacturer’s limited warranty that shipped with the product (see Terms §6). GMTS coordinates RMA with the vendor where we are the selling channel. Proof of purchase is required.
  • Peplink PrimeCare (year in the box, plus any 2-year licence on the quote) is the vendor care path for eligible Peplink hardware.
  • Warranty does not cover misuse, incorrect install, lightning / surge without adequate protection, water ingress outside IP rating, or unauthorised modification.

5. Consumers (NZ) — Consumer Guarantees Act 1993

The CGA applies if you are a consumer under that Act: goods or services of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic, or household use, and not acquired for resupply in trade (or the other commercial uses the Act excludes).

If you are a consumer, your CGA rights are not excluded by this page. Manufacturer warranty and PrimeCare sit alongside those rights. Contact info@gmts.io and we will work through a fair remedy.

Dealers and other trade customers buying in the course of business are generally not consumers under the CGA. Those invoices may contract out of CGA guarantees where that is fair and reasonable (CGA section 43).

6. Freight and risk on returns

  • Unless we confirm DOA / our error, return freight is usually at the customer’s cost and risk until we receive the goods.
  • Use adequate packaging; include the RMA reference on the outside of the carton.
