When B&G ended production of the widely installed H5000 5-inch graphic display, yards and independent integrators needed a colour panel that respects existing cutouts, databuses, and calibration work — not a wholesale rip-and-replace. A+T Instruments answered with the HFD5 and a broader full-colour family GMTS is now listing for dealers in the Pacific.
The display family (high level)
- HFD5 — 5″ colour successor positioned for H5000-style upgrades where A+T has validated the swap.
- BFD — larger full-colour fields for helm and crew positions; often chosen after side-by-side trials against other MFDs on refit projects.
- Mini, PHD, 3020, QBD7, MFD — smaller or dedicated panels for mast, companionway, and processor-driven Ethernet layouts.
- Analogue and digital wind — 500-series vertical and horizontal sensors plus spares aligned with legacy B&G 213-type installs.
Processors and backbone
Displays are only half the story. A+T ATP1 / ATP2 / ATP2X processors consolidate instrument traffic; many refits move off ageing H5000 CPUs first, then refresh displays in phases — the pattern David Minors describes on recent NZ yachts running QBD7 and ATP1 together.
A+T’s Ethernet ring around the yacht remains the high-performance option for new builds and major refits; NMEA 2000 CAN remains the pragmatic bridge on mixed fleets. GMTS scopes whichever backbone matches the yard schedule — we do not paste Peplink WAN copy onto instrument PDPs.
Trade pricing and support
A+T trade prices are quoted in GBP at UK RRP — GMTS passes that through to approved dealers without the usual hardware margin discount applied to other brands. Login on the shop when SKUs are live, or talk to GMTS for a bill-of-materials ahead of the import.
Factory support stays with A+T (including component-level repair heritage from Tinley Electronics). GMTS handles regional stocking questions, project BOMs, and integration with onboard networks, Starlink, and monitoring stacks we already deploy.
