A+T ATP processors when the H5000 brain is ready to retire

Displays get the attention, but the processor is the job that unlocks them. A+T’s ATP1 is built as a stand-alone replacement for B&G H2000, H3000 and H5000 processors, using the sensor wiring that already lands at the old CPU.

What the swap looks like

  • ATP1 houses the processor, a speed, sea temperature and 170 kHz depth board, and a wind board. One extra card fits in the case. Further interface boxes join over Ethernet.
  • Navigation runs at 50 Hz, upgradeable to 100 Hz, with heel, trim and barometric sensors in the unit.
  • Backbone keeps Fastnet for existing B&G sensors, plus NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183, so the yacht does not have to move every display on day one.
  • Then the panels. QBD7 and HFD5 are the colour displays that follow once the processor is stable.

Approved dealers see one NZD price on the shop, converted from the UK list. Browse A+T or talk to GMTS for a processor-first bill of materials.

A+T HFD5 and colour displays when B&G H5000 panels end of life

When B&G ended production of the widely installed H5000 5-inch graphic display, yards and independent integrators needed a colour panel that respects existing cutouts, databuses, and calibration work — not a wholesale rip-and-replace. A+T Instruments answered with the HFD5 and a broader full-colour family GMTS is now listing for dealers in the Pacific.

The display family (high level)

  • HFD5 — 5″ colour successor positioned for H5000-style upgrades where A+T has validated the swap.
  • BFD — larger full-colour fields for helm and crew positions; often chosen after side-by-side trials against other MFDs on refit projects.
  • Mini, PHD, 3020, QBD7, MFD — smaller or dedicated panels for mast, companionway, and processor-driven Ethernet layouts.
  • Analogue and digital wind — 500-series vertical and horizontal sensors plus spares aligned with legacy B&G 213-type installs.

Processors and backbone

Displays are only half the story. A+T ATP1 / ATP2 / ATP2X processors consolidate instrument traffic; many refits move off ageing H5000 CPUs first, then refresh displays in phases — the pattern David Minors describes on recent NZ yachts running QBD7 and ATP1 together.

A+T’s Ethernet ring around the yacht remains the high-performance option for new builds and major refits; NMEA 2000 CAN remains the pragmatic bridge on mixed fleets. GMTS scopes whichever backbone matches the yard schedule — we do not paste Peplink WAN copy onto instrument PDPs.

Trade pricing and support

Factory support stays with A+T (including component-level repair heritage from Tinley Electronics). GMTS handles regional stocking questions, project BOMs, and integration with onboard networks, Starlink, and monitoring stacks we already deploy.

A+T QBD7: seven-inch full-colour display for performance yachts

A+T Instruments builds high-performance sailing instrumentation in Lymington, UK — the same engineering culture behind many superyacht and grand-prix instrument refits. GMTS is bringing the A+T range onto gmts.io for dealers who want factory-supported displays, wind sensors, and ATP processors alongside the Peplink and NMEA kit we already supply.

The QBD7 is the headline full-colour display: a 7″ panel at 1,500 nits, readable in bright sun, mountable in landscape or portrait, with or without front buttons (locked pages for race mode). Each unit is immersion-tested and baked at 70 °C — the same rugged standard A+T applies across the range.

Why integrators care

  • Flexible pages — up to six configurable pages with graphs, bars, and analogue-style fields plus conditional colour (for example overload alerts).
  • Connectivity — CANbus (NMEA 2000 compatible) for B&G Hercules, H5000, WTP, Garmin, and Sailmon; Ethernet when the yacht runs an A+T ATP processor network.
  • Upgrade paths — replacement for discontinued Sailmon 7″ displays; B&G 30/30 upgrades with adaptor plate; standalone mast displays in portrait on smaller yachts.
  • Support — direct A+T technical line (UK) plus GMTS project scoping for NZ and Pacific installs.

Hugh Agnew at A+T describes the QBD7 as built for “clarity, flexibility, and toughness — everything professional sailors demand.” NZ integrator David Minors (DM Marine Electronics) notes it complements the existing A+T line — including recent ATP1 CPU upgrades replacing legacy H5000 brains.
