A+T 500 series horizontal wind sensor with carbon wand and vane, a complete replacement for the B&G 213 using the existing mast cable and bracket.

The A+T 500 series wind sensor is a complete, improved replacement for the B&G 213 masthead unit, with a carbon wand, carbon vane and a body about 30 % lighter than legacy units. Each unit is individually calibrated to 0.2 degrees, the fully ceramic bearings improve light wind performance and resist corrosion, and the conductive graphite loaded body reduces the chance of lightning or static damage. An adjustable counterweight allows the balance to be fine tuned.

This analogue version gives the traditional wind speed pulses and 3 phase angle output of the B&G 213, so it works with existing A+T and B&G systems (including H2000, H3000, H5000, WTP2, WTP3 and Hydra) using the existing mast cable and bracket. A+T proved the design on the Vendee Globe 2025. Vertical wand versions are listed separately. A+T Instruments is not affiliated with B&G or Navico; B&G product names are used for compatibility reference only.
