The A+T gravity change over switch selects between port and starboard speed or depth transducers and passes the selected sensor signals directly to the instrument system. An inbuilt microcontroller runs algorithms that avoid unnecessary switching when sailing in light airs, downwind, motoring or stationary, which otherwise causes inaccurate boat speed, delayed depth readings and early switch contact failure.
The standard version works on gravity alone. It can also be supplied with a manual selection switch and an NMEA0183 input so that selection is based on apparent wind angle, an arrangement often used on multihulls.
