Smarter Systems at Sea: Full LINK Integration on a 32m Yacht

Modern yachts are more connected than ever, and one of the best examples of that is a recent project we completed aboard a 32-meter vessel. The owner wanted more visibility, control, and automation throughout the yacht—from tank monitoring to security systems—all from a single platform. That’s where our LINK Smart Monitoring system came in.

A Deeper Integration

To achieve this level of insight and control, we connected LINK directly to the vessel’s NMEA 2000 backbone, enabling us to pull live data from critical onboard systems.

But it didn’t stop there. One of the yacht’s older PLC systems wasn’t compatible with NMEA data. Instead of replacing it entirely, we rebuilt the PLC logic and installed signal converters to output NMEA 2000 messages. This allowed us to seamlessly integrate analog sensor data into the digital monitoring system.

What We Delivered

With LINK fully installed and connected, the crew now has access to:

  • Live Tank Monitoring: Freshwater, fuel, and blackwater tank levels now display in real-time on touchscreen panels.
  • Custom Tank Alarms: We configured alerts for critical levels, such as low freshwater or high blackwater tanks, with both local and remote notifications.
  • Digital Switching & Relay Control: From lighting to bilge pumps, key systems can be toggled remotely via the LINK interface.
  • Integrated CCTV Feeds: Security cameras stream directly to LINK, enabling crew and owner to monitor all areas of the yacht from one platform.
  • Remote Access: The yacht can now be monitored from shore or even from the owner’s home, with real-time alerts and diagnostics.

Efficiency Without Overhaul

Rather than replace legacy systems, we extended their life by making them compatible with today’s smart tech. The result? A clean, modern integration without costly overhauls or unnecessary downtime.

Summary

This 32-meter yacht is now safer, smarter, and more efficient—thanks to a deep integration of LINK with both modern and legacy onboard systems. Whether it’s tank alarms, switch control, or CCTV feeds, everything is now accessible at the crew’s fingertips.
